تعتزم شركة "ميتا" تطوير إصدار رسمي من تطبيق "إنستغرام" لأجهزة أيباد، وذلك بعد أكثر من عقد من تجاهلها لهذه الأجهزة اللوحية.

ويعتمد مستخدمو أيباد حالياً نسخة مُكبّرة من تطبيق "إنستغرام" المخصص لهواتف آيفون، مما يجعل إطلاق الشركة إصداراً أصلياً من التطبيق مخصصاً للشاشات الكبيرة خطوة طال انتظارها من المستخدمين.

وتُوصف تجربة استخدام التطبيق عبر خاصية منظم الواجهة "Stage Manager" في أجهزة أيباد المدعومة بأنها مقبولة، كما أن أداء النسخة المخصصة للويب شهد تحسناً ملحوظاً في الأعوام الأخيرة، غير أن النسخة الأصلية التي تستفيد بالكامل من الشاشة الكبيرة، مازالت مطلوبة لدى المستخدمين.

يشار إلى أن آدم موسيري رئيس "إنستغرام" سبق أن برر عدم تطوير تطبيق لأجهزة آيباد، كون عدد مستخدمي المنصة عبر أيباد ليس كافياً ليكون في ذلك أولوية، مقابل أولويات أخرى.
