أشاد توماس باراك، السفير الأمريكي لدى تركيا والمبعوث الخاص إلى سوريا، بتمويل دولة قطر الكامل لمبادرة الغاز الحيوية لسوريا مؤكدا أنها تجسيد جريء من قطر وقيادتها الرشيدة لقيم الشراكة والصداقة.
وقال باراك في منشور على منصة /X/ اليوم: نتقدم بخالص الشكر لدولة قطر على تمويلها الكامل لمبادرة الغاز الحيوية لسوريا، مضيفا أنها خطوة بالغة الأهمية نحو الإغاثة والاستقرار في لحظة حرجة.
وأوضح المبعوث الأمريكي الخاص إلى سوريا أن هذه المبادرة ستتيح اعتبارا من الثاني من أغسطس الجاري وصول الغاز من أذربيجان عبر تركيا بما يسهم في توليد نحو 800 ميغاواط من الكهرباء ويوفر الإنارة لأكثر من خمسة ملايين منزل في سوريا.
