أعلَنَتِ البعثة الأثرية المصرية المشتركة بين المجلس الأعلى للآثار ومؤسسة زاهي حواس للآثار والتراث عن اكتشاف خبيئة تضم توابيت خشبية ملوّنة تحتوي على مومياوات، إضافة إلى برديات نادرة تعود إلى عصر الانتقال الثالث، وذلك خلال أعمال الحفائر في الزاوية الجنوبية الغربية من فناء مقبرة سنب بمنطقة القرنة في البر الغربي بالأقصر.
وأكد وزير السياحة والآثار شريف فتحي أن الكشف يمثل إضافة مهمة لسجل الاكتشافات الأثرية، ويعكس دعم الدولة لجهود البحث والحفاظ على التراث، مع الالتزام بأعلى معايير الترميم والدراسة تمهيدًا لعرض القطع بما يليق بالحضارة المصرية.
من جانبه، وصف زاهي حواس الكشف بالاستثنائي، مُشيرًا إلى العثور على 22 تابوتًا مرتبة بعناية داخل حجرة صخرية، إلى جانب أوانٍ فَخَّاريّة يُرجح استخدامها في طقوس التحنيط القديمة.
