وقعت هزة أرضية بقوة 4.8 درجة على مقياس ريختر، اليوم، على بعد 659 كيلومترا شمال غرب مدينة مرسى مطروح شمالي مصر.
وأوضح المعهد القومي للبحوث الفلكية والجيوفيزيقية في مصر، في بيان له، أن الهزة وقعت على عمق 23.63 كيلومتر، لافتا إلى أنه لم يرد ما يفيد بالشعور بالهزة أو وقوع أي خسائر في الأرواح والممتلكات.
