نَجَحَ باحثون صينيون في اختبار اتصال ليزري ثنائي الاتجاه بين الأرض والقمر عبر مسافة تتجاوز 400 ألف كيلومتر، محققين سرعة نقل بيانات بلغت 100 ميغابت في الثانية في الاتجاه الهابط و1.25 ميغابت في الثانية في الاتجاه الصاعد.
وأفاد مركز التكنولوجيا والهندسة للاستخدام الفضائي التابع للأكاديمية الصينية للعلوم بأن الاختبار جاء بعد أكثر من عام من التجارب في المدار، ما يمثل توسعًا في نطاق الاتصالات الفضائية بالليزر في الصين من المدار القريب من الأرض إلى الفضاء السحيق.
وقال يانغ لي، الباحث في المركز ورئيس فريق اختبار الاتصالات بالليزر، إن المسافة الشاسعة بين الأرض والقمر تجعل توجيه شعاع الليزر تحديًا كبيرًا.
